The sorption of mercury ions out of solutions and waste waters by clinoptilolite of Aydag deposit (Azerbaijan) has been studied. It has been established that the sorptional capacity of clinoptilolite towards the mercury ions rises with the increase of pH and reduction the size of particles. The experiments let us value positively the possibility of using the clinoptilolite for ion exchanging extraction of mercury ions out of acid and alkali waste waters. The number of independent factors which influence the degree of waste waters treatment of chlor production from mercury has been established. The regressive model, which can be used for regulating the concentration of mercury ions in the treated waste water has been developped.
