Publication ethics
Editorial principles, peer-review standards and responsibilities for authors and reviewers.
The editorial board follows principles developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics – COPE (https://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct)
The journal is an open access publication: all users can freely and free of charge read, download, link and copy published materials in accordance with principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) (http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/).
The journal is published in accordance with the following basic principles of editorial policy:
Editorial principles
The editor-in-chief, members of the editorial board, and authors of the journal have ethical obligations governed by principles of professionalism, objectivity, and impartiality.
When deciding on the release of an article for publication, the editorial board evaluates only the content of the article, without distinction as to the author’s race, sex, sexual orientation, political or religious views, social origin, or citizenship. The editor-in-chief should not leave unanswered claims regarding reviewed manuscripts or published materials and, if a conflict situation is identified, must take all necessary measures to restore violated rights. The editors are always ready to publish corrections, clarifications, refutations, and apologies when necessary.
Privacy Statement
The editorial board strictly observes the confidentiality of the articles provided. It does not use materials prepared for publication for transfer to third parties or for personal purposes without the written consent of the authors.
Plagiarism Policy
In case elements of plagiarism are detected in an article, or if authors publish the same article in different journals, the editorial board takes measures to clarify the reasons for the violation of publication ethics. The authors are informed of the fact, and the editorial board reserves the right to remove the article from publication and deny further submissions from those authors.
Peer review
All content of the journal undergoes mandatory double-blind review by independent experts. Reviewers are recognized specialists in their field who have no scientific, financial, or other relationships with the article’s authors.
After peer review, the article is reviewed by the editorial board to decide on publication.
Transparency and access
The journal’s website provides open access to information about the publisher, editor-in-chief, editorial board, journal description, editorial policy, submission and review rules, and full-text versions of all published articles. The editors are ready to publish corrections, clarifications, refutations, and apologies when necessary.
Conflict of Interest
At the end of each article, authors must declare whether a conflict of interest exists. The editors are responsible for preventing conflicts of interest within the publication process.
Prevention of Ethical Violations
An agreement is concluded between the editorial board and authors, confirming their consent to publication and transfer of copyright to the journal.
Retraction
Retraction of an article may be initiated by the author or by the editorial board.
Grounds for retraction include:
- Detection of plagiarism
- Duplication of publication
- Detection of falsifications or serious errors
- Hidden conflict of interest
If the editorial board decides to retract an article, it informs the author, provides justification, and publishes the retraction information on the journal’s website under the corresponding issue.
Requests for retraction from third parties are investigated with author input before a decision is made. Once completed, the retraction information is sent to all indexing databases where the journal is listed.
