THE ROLE OF SUBSTITUENTS IN THE FORMATION OF SPATIAL STRUCTURE OF NORBORNANES

The influence of substituents on stability of spatial structure of norbornanes has been investigated. It has been shown that N-arylimides of norbornandicarboxylic acids where substituents in ortho-position of phenyl part are OCH3-, Cl-, NO2-, can be realized as decelerated conformation isomers. The fact of original spatial isomerism has been confirmed by the results of quantochemical calculations.
