Zn(II) AND Hg(II) COMPLEXES WITH 2,2′ -DIAMINE-4,4′-BIS(1,3-TIAZOL)

2,2′ -diamine-4,4′-bis(1,3-tiazole) (DABTA) forms new complexes of composition [M(DABTA)(CH3COO)2] with Zn(II) and Hg(II) acetate. Their IR, 1H and 13 C NMR spectras
and termogravimetic properties have been investigated. X-ray stucture of the [Zn(DABTA)(CH3COO)2] shows the Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two nitrogen atoms of DABT and four oxygen atoms of two bidentate acetate anions. The comparision of spectral properties of Zn(II) and Hg(II) complexes shows that they are identifical.
